Though you can slot Addons on the fly, you will need to locate a Gearwear Upgrade Bench in order to improve the Quality or Material of your Armor. You can Modify your Armor anywhere from the Craft tab, but you need the parts in the Crafting Cost section to Craft. If you don’t, you won’t be able to do this, and you may need to Dismantle some Armor, or find some around the landscape. Select the Addon and then place it into the preferred slot as long as you have the sufficient parts. Here you need only select the slot, then the item you wish to Modify. You do not need to be at a Gearwear Upgrade Bench in order slot Addons, you can actually do it anywhere by going to the “ Craft” tab in your menu. Larger pieces of Armor generally have more Addon Slots, but this is not true 100% of the time. Addons provide increased Stats in some way, whether higher Critical Chance, more Armor or increased Resistances.
